Our third season of this monthly social event has ended and we have already booked half of the 2010/2011 season. We are pleased to see how this social gathering continues to enhance the “sense of community” within Sin Vacas.
We again thank Marion Kaufer for bringing this event suggestion to our community three years ago; it continues to be a grand success. We would at this time like to offer a special toast to all who have graciously opened their homes and hosted an event:

The host/hostess provides crackers & cheese or simple hors d’oeuvres. This is a great opportunity to sample others’ wine favorites and more importantly enable friends and neighbors to meet and mix and welcome newcomers.
NOTE: During the three years of this event, several residents have suggested we evolve this event into a potluck type event. Some residents have in fact hosted it as a potluck dinner or pot luck hors d’oeuvres event thus enabling more residents to participate in hosting. Others have preferred to keep the event as a very simple get together of neighbors. Because of the mixed opinions of neighbors, even though the majority of comments have been to keep it simple, we will continue with the ad hoc approach. The host of each event can at their choosing deviate from the “keep it simple” approach.
